Release Day!

It’s been a long awaited day for this writer. My journey to creating a young adult novel began several years back and crawled it’s way to becoming reality. Mainly because I couldn’t decide the direction the story would take. I knew it would be an adventure tale detailing an expedition into the Amazon Rainforest, and that’s how it started, but then I stumbled across an article about lost indigenous tribes, another about ancient cities being discovered by Lidar, a ground penetrating radar. And of course, the famous archeologist and explorer Percy Fawcett, who vanished in 1925 while searching the rainforest wilderness for an ancient city he proclaimed existed. Pictures like this certainly make you believe the in the possibility!

One day I’d love to visit the region myself, but until then, I’ll have to be satisfied with researching facts and photos and first-hand travel accounts. But the level of adventure to actually go… that’s something I’d love to experience. Not to the extent of Percy Fawcett, but wouldn’t an ancient lost city be mind blowing to discover?

That’s when I went off the rails and decided the YA needed to go down that road. So I did. And CRYSTAL PROPHECY was born. The whole book was rewritten, edited twice, and changed some more. Then there’s the whole Atlantis aspect that I wove in, an intriguing mystery that plays on the Atlantean Mythos and WOW, was that research fascinating!
